What maternity leave has meant to me...

It was welcoming our new baby girl and learning what it meant to be parents.

We learned about each other and became a family.

We had lots of snuggles with our squishy tiny little girl.

We went on adventures with her and made memories.

We moved into our new home together.

We celebrated Mothers Day

And Fathers Day.

Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.

We've giggled.

We've dressed up (fancy is her middle name)

We've stayed in our PJs and caught up on Netflix

Gone swimming.

We've hit milestones.

I'm so thankful for this time with my sweet girl and for all the memories we made as a family. We took full advantage of maternity leave and enjoyed every second. I can't believe how quickly time is passing by. I love my sweet Nellie Mae more and more each day! I'm sure I will have lots of tears the first day back, but will look forward to coming home each night to see her. So thankful for our little blessing.

What the Hale we've been up to...

Time is flying by. I keep asking myself, how is my baby almost 2 months old. She's such a blessing and changes every day. I can't remember what life was like without her {and how boring we must have been}. It's so hard to believe that this time last year we were midway through the IVF process. What a difference a year makes.

She's laughing a lot these days. I'm sure she's thinking who are these crazies that keep kissing and hugging all over me.

{oh brother mom, stop with all the kisses}

But who could resist that double chin. {isn't it funny how the only time a double chin is cute is on a baby}. And the chunky legs, don't you just want to squeeze them.

She's been a trooper and so chill as we've worked on the house. We are hoping to move in very soon. I can't wait to share pictures once we've moved in and are settled. The outside is going to take a little additional time. We've got to move fences {Kevin keeps talking about something called H braces we have to buy and I just nod}. Then we have to have dirt work done, flowerbeds and stone added, a garage and finally a drive way. But all that will come, I'm so ready to move in I could care less about those outside things. Here is a sneak peak of the inside.

I'm so happy with the backsplash Kevin added. He's so talented and determined to do so much of the house on his own. The lights he's added are so perfect. But I'm so thankful for that stubbornness and for making our house perfect. It's been a long road and my dad and Kevin have worked so hard to make it perfect. My part ended after I finished doing our draws weekly and once we finished up with contractors {other than the few electrical and sealing projects Kevin's let me do, scary huh}. I learned so much being the main contact for each contractor and got to know so many of them very well.  It would for sure be more fun and less stressful to build for someone other than yourself. Oh, and a endless budget would be nice too. 😜

Between working on the house and stress we decided to do something fun last week and went to the Dallas Arboretum with my mother in law. Nellie was such a good sport and took a ton of pictures. She slept almost the entire time there but we got some sweet pictures.

But by the end she was over it, so we left and had lunch at Alligator Cafe in Dallas {one of our favorites}.

{notice the screaming baby, arching her back in the bumbo}

After lunch we did a little baby boutique shopping in Dallas. This girls wardrobe is better than mine. And I love it! Buying clothes for her is so much fun. I'm sure once I lose all the baby weight I will be ready to shop again. I can only delete Nordstom advertisement emails for so long 😁. But right now it's all about her {pretty sure that will never change}.

{notice the hot pink jellies, a childhood favorite of mine. Wish they came in my size}

She's such a littler stinker and smiles once I put the camera away but I was able to capture this little grin. {melt my heart}. Somedays we still can't believe this is real life and that we get to raise this little love bug.
