December in pictures....

December flew by, mainly because Kevin and I were too busy enjoying every moment.

Christmas was wonderful even though my mom was sick. I was able to help my dad pull of Christmas with help from our family. Christmas Eve I celebrated week 22 of pregnancy. It feels like it's starting to fly by.

We went Christmas light looking with the family in Highland Park and Addison with a stop at sprinkles for cupcakes.

We went to Ice at the Gaylord Texan. Totally worth the money and oh so cold.

We made Gingerbread houses, Christmas cookies and candy. And gave it away before I could eat it all.

We enjoyed our Christmas decorations by the fire in our house. We didn't put them all up this year, but we did get some up.

And we've enjoyed our babymoon at Beavers Bend in Broken Bow Oklahoma. Another amazing cabin by Hidden Hills. Mystic Mount was more gorgeous than any picture we could take. So blessed to spend this time together. And can't wait to bring Miss Nellie Mae back with us.

Praying for a blessed 2015 and thankful for answered prayers in 2014.

After keeping the gender a secret for what seemed like a forever {3 days}, we finally were able to announce it to our family and friends this weekend.

Ou gender reveal party in pictures.....

We are beyond excited to welcome this sweet baby girl into the world in April. We can't wait to love on her and spoil her rotten. She is a gift from God and such a blessing already.

It was so fun having all of our family and friends there. I didn't take many pics but here is one of Kevin, his dad and brother.

My next big appointment is my 20 week appointment the first part of December. We love seeing our sweet girl on sonograms. I'm hopig my energy continues to increase and the nausea continues to decrease. Then I maybe can blog a little more.

Thank you for reading and keeping us in your prayers. We are so blessed and I can't wait to share sweet baby Hales name soon!

Being Thankful 365.....

November always reminds us to be thankful. Thankful for our loved ones, our home, our job and my favorite is for Jesus saving me from me sins. But what about the other 11 months in the year? Why can't we remember to be thankful during those months?

Kevin and I started a tradition and every night before bed in November we say one thing that we are thankful for.

This month we have a lot to be thankful for, starting with a another good scan for Kevin. We are so very blessed by that.

Also I'm thankful for our 7th wedding anniversary. Kevin took me to my favorite steakhouse to celebrate Saturday.

I had to document it in pictures.

The dessert was compliments of Bobs to celebrate our anniversary and Kevin's scan. Such a happy night and the baby loved the food.

We are also thankful we find out Baby Hales gender this week! Pictures from the party coming soon!

What are you thankful for?

PS: maybe now that I'm in my second trimester I can blog again and not go to bed at 6:00 pm every night.

10 weeks and growing....

I've been sleeping way too much, so it's been hard to blog lately.

I'm done with my progesteone shots, my butt has never been so happy. I met with my obgyn today and I will continue blood thinners until the day before my c-section. Those shots are easy, so I'm happy with that.

My mom and dad got me a bump nest, best invention ever made. Love sleeping with it. And Kevin surprised me with cupcakes on Friday, which was so sweet but it took so much will power to only eat one.

Sunday we went to the State Fair.

And enjoyed some amazing sweet treats! This was Kevin's mom and my favorite, fried sweet Texas. Peach, Apple and pecan pie fried. With Blue Bell.

The best thing of all, today we saw our sweet baby. I'll be 10 weeks on Wednesday. Baby is growing right on track and my due date is April 29th (they day before my birthday. But since I'm high risk I will have the baby 2-3 weeks early via c-section. My doctor is being so cautious, I love it. It makes the switch from an RE to a Obgyn easier.

We love this babe so much! Such a blessing, we are so thankful.

IVF and Walking By Faith

By now everyone knows why I've been silent on my blog for the past couple months. I've been waiting until after our first sonogram to share our IVF story.

Back in April I began to have ovarian pain associated with my pcos. Instead of going to my regular obgyn I decided to go to the fertility doctor Kevin had banked his sperm at before starting chemo. (Sorry for the TMI). He not only is the top RE in Dallas but also at Baylor so I was excited to see what he thought about our chances were for ivf success and his thoughts on our previous failures with another physician.

During this appointment he did more than any fertility doctor we'd seen. I had a dermoid cyst that had to be removed pronto. During the surgery he found I had  endrometriosis stage IV and lots of scar tissue and fatty tissue (apparently pcos makes you grow fat everywhere, even on your organs).

After the surgery he suggested we jump right into an antagonist ivf protocol and that started in June. He did really low dosage of the stims and didn't want me to produce too many eggs. He feels it lowers the quality and can cause chromosome issues which leads to them not attaching. At this point I'd already been on thyroid medication for a couple months as well.

The time came for the egg retrieval, in my oppinion the worst part of ivf. He retrieved 20 eggs, 15 were mature and 15 went through isci (the embryologist fertilizes each embryo by inserting some of Kevin's best swimmers by injection). The embryos developed really well and by day 5 we had 4 excellent embryos. The best 2 were transfered and the other 2 grew an additional day and then were frozen for the future.

Transfer day is the easiest. Kevin and I had lunch at our favorite taco place in Dallas and then headed to transfer. They gave me a Valium which relaxed me and made the time pass quickly. We got the opportunity to meet our embryos through a microscope which was so emotional. They both were moving around and looked perfect. We both cried and knew those were our babies no matter what happened.

After the transfer we headed home and I started 4 days of bed rest. This was the first time we had done bed rest after a transfer and I truly believe this is what did it. I worked from home on day 2-4 and kept funny movies on in the background. This two week wait and really the whole cycle was pretty much stress free, also I think this helped. Keeping this private this time around really reduced my stress too.

Beta time came and I decided not to test before. I did that on previous cycles and it just added stress. But on the way home from our blood test I caved and bought a test. We got home and I tested. Within seconds it was positive. Kevin and I both cried, but we waited until the office called with the results before getting excited. Dr Putman called around 1pm and confirmed the news. We then let our parents know and waited till our third beta before telling a few other family members.

The hardest part was waiting 4 weeks till our sonogram. I was a wreck not knowing what we would see and if it would be only a sac. But God blessed us and not only was there a sac but a beautiful baby in it.

Fertility treatments taught me many things but most importantly it taught me Gods timing is perfect.

Please keep praying for our little gummy bear. That it would grow healthy and safely! We are so blessed!

Two weeks in pictures......

The last two weeks have been a blur, filled with lots of fun and family. Kevin had a great MRI this past week and we are so thankful.

Here's what we've been doing....

Last weekend we celebrated with dinner at Ruth Chris in Dallas.

The cake and lobster Mac and Cheese was my favorite.

Then we headed to do our weekly grocery shopping at my favorite store.

Kevin's family celebrated their monthy birthdays with a bowling party.

I won a game, which was a miracle.

Kevin and I've been staying on track with healthy eating and exercise this week. I love running with Kevin (other than him pushing me to go faster).

Happy Monday!
