Baby Showers and Getting Ready for Nellie

It's crazy to think next week we will be holding our little girl. I'm sad in a way that this chapter will end but also so excited about the next chapter. We've not only prepared for the last nine months for this next chapter but prayed for it to happen for 6 years. We are so ready for Gods blessing.

We were blessed with two awesome family baby showers and received more than we deserve. It's amazing to see how much people love Nellie already.

Shower at my sisters, given by Paige, Jenn and Cami.

Us before our shower at Grand Traditions given by Kevin's aunts and uncle.

Kevin and I've had so much fun getting Nellie's temporary room ready. Kevin has played with all her goodies testing them out. His favorite is the MamaRoo.

Only a few more weeks until her new house will be ready.

View of living room/fireplace. The wooden beam at the top is going to be amazing.

Things are moving along quick. Sheetrock and texture are done. Ready for trim, cabinets, doors and paint. Building a house and being 9 months pregnant has been hard. But totally worth it.

We loved our maternity pictures too. Such a blessing and a reminder of sweet Nellie being in my belly. Monica Torres does an amazing job. I can't wait to see our newborn pictures.

Kevin and I have been so blessed during this pregnancy. I can't wait to see all the blessings as begin our journey as parents.

Hello Third Trimester

The dreaded glucose screening happened two weeks ago. I started feeling sick the day before and woke up feeling even worse but I was determined to stick it out and do my test.

Good thing I did, I passed with flying colors. So thankful I did. I couldnt have done the three hour test. By the end of the test I felt so bad, I was doing my best to hold down this sugary drink.

Later that day I started running a high temp and my PCP was out of flu swabs so they sent me to minute clinic. I was frustrated and so sick so I waited till Kevin could drive me. Test came back positive for type a flu. The flu is terrible, but add being 7 months preggers on top of that. Coughing alone when pregnant is a punishment.

When my results came back from my glucose test they did find out I was anemic. So in addition to all my other meds they've added a special kind of iron. Next week I will transition to a new blood thinner injection and I will stay on it until the day before my csection. Then after delivery I will go back on the injections for 6 weeks to make sure I have no issues. I can't wait until we are done with shots, but I'm thankful they are keeping me and most importantly baby safe.

In other news we were able to start construction last week on our house. It's taken us months for negotiating with the bank, contractors, the city, the county but finally we got our approval to start construction.

So far the form boards are up and plumbing is in. Just waiting on the rest of the foundation to be completed. It's so fun watching it progress everyday!

I'm so ready for it to be complete because we need a bigger closet for our sweet Nellie Mae. I can't stop buying clothes for our sweet girl. And princess crowns.

Yes, that is a pink swimsuit and sunglasses. Me and Nellie plan on swimming this summer.

And my mom got me a Kate Spade diaper bag. It's perfect!

Tomorrow I will be 29 weeks, time is flying. I'm so excited and sad at the same time. I've been so thankful for this pregnancy and I'm not sure if it will be my only one. But on the bright side I have a precious girl who will be here in just a flew short weeks. I love her so much already!

The months are flying by...,

It's hard to believe I'm almost 7 months pregnant with Nellie Mae. It seems like yesterday we were waiting for our embryo transfer and seeing our baby through a microscope. Not many parents can say they saw their baby 5 days after conception. But we did. We saw both embryos move around and one of those is my sweet Nellie.

We haven't been up to much lately. Just getting ready for this sweet girls arrival. We cleaned out our middle room this weekend for a temporary room for Nellie while our house is in progress.

Kevin made a N nightlight and I love it.

Her real furniture, bedding and room decor live at my parents for the time being. I love her deer we found her in Canton.

And I love the saying on the sign we bought her. It has a little more meaning to me than I thought I'd ever share. While going through ivf this last round I wasn't a Google crazy lady this time. I was an Instagram #ivf crazy lady. But out of this obsession I found lots of inspiration. And this was one of the sayings I loved the most.

While I was on bedrest after ivf and started to lose hope I said this saying to myself over and over. I also said "faith of a mustard seed" and prayed my little seed stuck. And she did. So when we saw this in Canton I had to have it for her nursery.

Other than picking out bedding and cleaning out rooms. This weekend we rested. Kevin finished 5 days of chemo and I was just tired from working all week. We watched movies and did laundry, so exciting.

Kevin bought me a treat while we were in Dallas picking up her bedding.

Nellie and I loved our sprinkles cupcakes. I've tried to avoid the sweets as much as possible, but it's hard to say no to sprinkles.

Only a couple more weeks till my best friend gets married. I will be the most pregnant bridesmaid there ever was but I can't wait to stand with her on her big day.

And it's only 12 more weeks till Nellie gets here. I can't wait to hold this baby girl. Kevin and I argue who will get to hold her the most. Can't wait!
